Permanence:
The state or quality of lasting or remaining unchanged.

Impermanence:
The state or fact of lasting for only a limiting period of time

Something that is permanent, keeps going on, continuing, and is ever present.

The blue sky is an example.

Something that is impermanent, means it is transitory, there for a while and then goes away.

Such as the clouds.

In our dualistic, three-dimensional, solid, and tangible world, there is impermanence, things come and go.

Like our thoughts, they are created or arise, stay for a while, and then they disappear:

Start, Change and Stop.
Examples.

We commence cutting the lawn at the front of our home - start.
The grass is reduced in height - change.
We stop when all the grass is cut, clippings put on the compost, equipment cleaned and put away and the area swept and tidied - stop.

Birth, Growth and Death.

We are born - birth.
We grow up through our childhood, teenage years and enter adulthood for an unknown period of time - growth.
Death - one day we take our last breath and pass away - death.

Be, Do and Have.

We determine what we want to have in our life, i.e. what we want to create as our personal reality - Have.
We establish who or what we would need to be in order to bring about the manifestation - Be.
Our Doingnessess will arise from what we are Being in any one moment - Do.

One of our biggest challenges is hanging on to the idea that something will remain unchanged and permanent in this world.

This false idea of permanence in our dualistic world we inhabit, is driven by survival.

We have a foundation of things that we can rely on, but they too have an expiry date..

Our body which we rely on to be there for us, in essence is based on discontinuance along with our attachment to it, to our world, our belongings, material things, etc., are all blanketed in impermanence.

Even our life-giving sun is following the principle of eventual decay and ultimately, expiry.

Everything in this three-dimensional world is in a state of flux, it’s expanding and contracting, like waves crashing to the shore and receding.

Like the changing seasons, everything is in motion, the atoms in our bodies, our thoughts, the cycles of life, revolutions of the earth, the movement through the galaxies, everything is in motion.

When we're attached to these impermanence’s there is an expectation that they will remain the same and stay there permanently for us.

Of course, this is an illusion.

Wherever there's an expectation that is unfulfilled, it's met with disappointment.

Our challenge, as infinite beings occupying this physical world, is to let go of our attachment to it, which is impermanent and dwell in the permanent.

So what is permanent for us?

Well, the infinite being that you are, who has a foot in both camps.

One foot in the finite, dual world and the other in the infinite, multi-dimensionality, where there is no matter, time, energy and space and dwelling in that permanence, this which was never born, and will never die.

This is where we need to put our attention in order to avoid the disappointment of growing old, of something disappearing, or a pet dying.

All of these activities that hold us fixated to the impermanence, if we can truly confront them, face them and accept them as our reality, then we can enjoy them so much more, knowing that which is silently observing these, that which lies beyond them, is forever permanent.

Isn't that a consoling thought, to know that you are the one that is connected to everything, to All That Is and you are absolutely permanent.

Dwell in that!

Dwell in that!
